Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Spotted Dick is a real food that can be purchased in grocery stores. I’ve never had it, and I’m not sure that I want to try it after reading the description: Spotted Dick is a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants) commonly served with custard (Source).
